UIUC的各位新同学：
你们好！
欢迎来到UIUC学习和生活,
历年来，为新生提供接机和住宿的志愿者都是十分紧缺的资源，而今年的形势尤为严峻。一方面今年新生多达450人以上，较往年有了大幅的增长。另一方面，很多老生都选择暑假回国或者去外地实习。同时八月也是老生搬家的旺季，由于新旧房间衔接不上，一些老生甚至都面临着"无家可归"的境地。他们虽然很愿意为新生提供援助，但可惜心有余而力不足。再则,以往CSSA可以得到极大帮忙的某些机构和组织, 如IS, 今年已经无法再为CSSA提供任何的帮助了.目前,我们所收到的新生接机和临时住宿申请已经大大的超过了我们极其有限的资源了.
鉴于以上的情况，我们真诚的希望各位新生能帮我们分担一些压力。请大家去学校申请dorm的临时住宿. 同时, 在条件允许的情况下，我们希望大家能自己找旅店住宿。我们在CSSA的新生wiki上提供了一些推荐的旅店信息: http://www.cssa.uiuc.edu/wiki/index.php?n=NewStudent.TemporaryAccommodationInformation 。此外，由于人手有限和旅馆的要求，我们十分抱歉无法帮大家预订，所以还希望大家能提前（至少两天）订好旅店，并将旅店信息告知CSSA，我们的志愿者仍能提供接机服务。
在此，我们对给大家带来的诸多不便深表歉意。同时，也希望大家能体谅CSSA的困难，为所有UIUC中国学子这个共同的群体尽一份力！

| CSSA president voting system open |
Hey all,
It was a pleasant, but quite intensive meeting last night for the two candidates with others. For further information about Yang Jianchao and Yang Li, please refer to our website, BBS, or my previous emails. Our voting for CSSA 2008-09 president starts now. Here are the voting rules. Please read carefully, and give your important vote to your supported candidate.
1. Votes from only CHINESE students and scholars are valid (including Taiwan, Hongkong and Macau). Every individual is allowed to vote ONCE.
2. Please use your uiuc email account to send your vote to uiuccssa08@gmail.com
In Subject (or Caption), please write either of the following:

No need to write anything else in the main text.
To qualify for a valid voting, note that ONLY votes from your UIUC campus email is valid (which means that the email should end with @uiuc.edu ). We do NOT accept other email accounts or UIUC department emails (e.g. any email ending with @XX.uiuc.edu will be discarded). So when you use outlook express, outlook, firefox, or any other pop3/smtp client to send emails, pls note that the sender information is NOT your department or institute email address. 3. The voting system is available from April 27th 1pm to May 3rd 1pm. The final result will be announced on May 4th reception.

混双比赛将于本周六（4月26日）下午3点在Atkins Tennis Center室外场地举行。
混双比赛报名已经结束，共有9对选手参与，因此决定采用分组循环赛制。经过电脑随机抽签分成以下3组

| CSSA08－09主席竞选流程 |
Hey all,
Everyone seems to be heavily involved in Olympics preparation now. Taking a little break, we still need to decide who will be the next president for CSSA. Now, here is the coming schedule:
April 26th (Sat) 8pm-9pm: Meeting the president candidates at Campus Connection club room (campus connection apartment, 1601 North Lincoln Avenue Urbana, IL 61801; Yes, same place as new year party this year). The two candidates, Jianchao Yang and Li Yang would each give a free talk about their ideas and motivations about CSSA to the public, and also answer questions from you if there is any. Snack and drinks would be provided. And we w still trying to give out free gifts left from the moon festival and new year parties.
April 26th 12am- May 3rd 12am: On-line voting system will be open. A detailed voting process would be announced after the candidates meeting.
We will have current CSSA President, Treasure, General secretory and Vice Presidents as the 2008 Election Committee, who would be able to access the voting account, supervising the voting process together.
May 4th 2:30pm-4:30pm: CSSA Service Excellence Awards reception and welcome the new presidency.

We are still working hard on the Picture Exhibition. We have so limited time and so limited hands, So we really need your help.
First, We need your participation. If you have some clothes with Olympic symbols, put them on.
For this event, we are focusing on supporting Beijing Olympics. We won't talk too much about Tibet. We don't want to mix up these two things. But we will be prepared for questions on Tibet, we have a poster for this issue, and we have free CDs and flyers on this.

各位：
对之前宣布的只有一个候选人的通知修改如下：
现共有两名候选人：杨建辉和杨立。杨立在截止日期后一个星期内提交简历。考虑到近年来，这是首次出现两名以上的候选人竞争主席之职，实在值得期盼，对 CSSA的发展也有很大的益处。所以CSSA委员们决定接受杨立同学的申请。
杨立同学的简历以及自我介绍如下。初步定于四月底（26日左右）举办主席候选人与大家的见面会，然后开通一个星期的电子投票系统，五月初（4号左右）举办 CSSA年度总结及交接大会，颁发2007－08CSSA年度贡献荣誉奖，并宣布2008－09CSSA主席人选。请关注详细通知。

自述
对于大多数在这里的中国人来说，杨利是一个完全陌生的名字，如果不是因为这次选举，或许，在你们的世界里，我永远都不会存在，正如所有陌生的人或事从未曾 在我的世界里存在过一样，所以，我一直在想，怎样的叙述，才能使你对于这个完全陌生的人有一个较为确切的，没有偏倚的认识，甚至产生一些好感，想结交这个朋友。这么说吧，我是一个非常普通的人，正如我的名字一样的普通（相对于男孩，我的名字在女孩中好像更为普遍），我出生在一个内蒙古的一个工人阶级家庭，我的父亲是一位铁路工人，曾经是火车司机，在童年，这一度是一件值得我骄傲和炫耀的事，普通的家庭，平凡的成长，告诉了我什么是平实，真挚和坚韧，同时渐渐也将我变成了一个平实，真挚，坚韧的人。深处内地的内蒙古，没有繁华都市的高楼大厦灯红酒绿，当然也没有江南水乡的柔情秀美，她有的只是一望无际的草原，漫无边际的风沙，还有冬季刺骨的严寒，但是她可以给予一位青年一个广阔的胸襟和一颗渴望奔向远方的心。
正如《青春》中的歌词一样，带着些流浪的喜悦我就这样一去不回，没有谁暗示年少的我那想家的枯涩滋味，1999年，我离开家乡，奔赴厦大，怎么形容厦大呢，如果我说她是一片浪漫主义的沃土，一个理想主义的天堂，或许你会觉得不真实，但是，在厦大，你确实可以在空气嗅到爱情的味道，在四月的阳光下看见我们曾经自信灿烂的笑脸，或许你还能在公教的课桌上找到我们曾经刻下的永不反悔的誓言，是的，就是在这样的校园里我们茁壮成长，我们奋发图强。我曾是厦大辩论队的一名辩手，后来又成为新辩手的教练，我主演过话剧《援藏》，也曾策划过一些我们系里面的晚会，对我来说，那仿佛是我的另一个童年，这就是我的大学生活，一个普通的像任何一个下午一样普通的大学生活，从未叱咤风云，但是我快乐，激昂，阳光。
然后是考研，然后是考研失败再考研，然后是好好学习，天天向上，然后直博，然后是UI,在然后是我遇到了你们，或者你们遇到了我。
我为什么要竞选CSSA的主席。
我想说，绝非突发奇想。
我爱中国，这种爱的模样和力量，已经到了我所能掌握的文字的尽头，我很难用言语描述，她能让一个堂堂28岁的内蒙古的汉子瞬时失声哭泣。来到异国，我才真正感受到什么叫做，中国强则中国人强，中国人强则中国强，在到美国这最初的三个月里，我并不想家，让我深深思念的是祖国的语言，也正是我们的语言这个无形的绳索将我们紧紧的捆绑在一起，让我们区别于别人，让我们爱，让我们期待，让我们彼此支撑，让我们不断前行，嗨，你好，我叫杨利，这句最简单的中国话，让我知道，你和我是站在一起的，对于一个在异国求学的学子来说，我想仅仅是这句话，就已经足够了。
我希望能和大家在一起，我希望能和大家紧紧的被捆绑在一起，我希望能和大家倔强的坚强的站在一起，就算是倒下，也要一起倒下，绝不让任何一个人，先倒下。所以我希望自己能为这种力量的传承和前行助一把力，希望我们能彻头彻尾的为自己，为自己的血性骄傲一把。
我的缺点
经验，我们的经验永远不足
这是个大问题，我所说的是面对一个群体的经验，一个群体，并不像是一个单一的人，他是一个非常复杂的具有不同性格情绪和心灵的杂糅体，他可能同时具有多张脸孔和多种颜色，然而并不是每个人都有机会能见证他的复杂性，即便是真正亲眼见过她容貌的人，绝大多数也会因为这种复杂性而迷失，更别说能在微妙间掌握他的动向了，而我在这方面的经验是仍然不足.
但谁叫我们是中国人呢，谁叫我们都在异国他乡呢，谁叫我们的骨子里生长着龙的血脉呢，我微乎其微，一颗微尘，甚至有时在我自己心里，我都感觉不到自己的存在，但是我们不一样，我们是一个坚实的具体的不能再具体的实体，她真实的存在于这片土壤上，在校园里，在通往orchard downs的公车上，在atrium的宿舍中，在各个系的实验室里，只要我们站在一起，真正的站在一起，那就没有顶不住的大风，没有过不去的河流?
如果真有困难了，抗不住了，不用怕，兄弟会先上，用手推，手推断了，我用脚踹，脚踹折了，我会用头撞，头被撞破了，我会用牙咬，咬到把牙都咬掉了，兄弟实在抗不住了，兄弟用眼瞪也要把它瞪回去，只是兄弟现在睁不开眼了，兄弟眼里流泪了，兄弟哭了，兄弟恨自己，兄弟恨自己为什么就不是擎天柱，你们会看兄弟哭么，你们会看着一个堂堂7尺来自内蒙古的汉子落泪么，你们不会，你们一定会和兄弟一起抗，一起喊着抗，一起用手推，用头撞，用肩顶着抗，兄弟现在不哭了，兄弟笑了，兄弟又能站起来了，你们都在死抗，兄弟能一个人先倒下么，让我们血脉相连起来，就让我们搅它个天翻地覆，就让我们一起干它一翻海破天惊得大事出来。
我的优点，
如果之前的话语过于激动，请原谅我的血气方刚，让我们回到理性，谈谈我的一些经历。
经验，同一个问题，我们的经验永远不足：）
大学毕业后我曾就职于汇丰银行深圳分行市场部，负责领导我们团队（7人）做市场拓展。
我来自厦门大学王亚南经济研究院，虽然亚南院成立时间不长，但是如果对国内计量经济学发展有所了解的同学和老师，应该知道，在亚南院成立不到两年的时间中，它在厦大召开过大大小国际会议近十几场，最大的国际会议(SETA2007)参会代表来自四十多个不同的国家。在此期间，我曾分别担当过接待来宾组，安排住宿组和安排会场组的负责人。
在制造气氛和发挥想象力增加游戏的娱乐性方面，基于长期的积累和不断的自我超越，加上自己的天分，我自认为我有着非常丰富甚至惊人的经验，我，可以负责人的告诉大家，杨利，就是ATRIUM的“游戏大王”：），所以我想在组织娱乐活动方面，我有着独到的见解和经验

09/2002-07/2006，就读于中国科学技术大学电子工程与信息科学系。
09/2006-现在，在UIUC电子与计算机工程系攻读博士学位。
自我简介：
初次接触我的人，会觉得我很内向。接触多了以后，你会发现，原来我真的很内 向，不过人品巨佳。最近师兄把车赠给我，每天无聊就是出去遛车，没办法， Apartment不让养宠物（包括金鱼，不过金鱼也没法遛）。
曾经想着本科毕业去创业，最后发现无天时，没地利（合肥啊），缺人和（哥们儿都考研出国了），只好作罢（如果这里有人要搞，你可以诱我入伙）。本打算在科大读研，无奈保研只有直博名额，反正国内国外都是五年，不如国外吧。于是来到 UIUC的电子与计算机工程系，幸运的进入有诸多头衔的大牛Thomas Huang的研究组 （如果你做模式识别，欢迎过来切磋）。
日复一日，年复一年，睁眼闭眼，都是科研，曾经以为，上了贼船，最后发现，人生嘛，它就是体验！体验做个坏人倒是刺激，可惜江山易改，本性难移，原来坏人难做。况且，本人深受宗教哲学毒害，更是没有资格做个坏蛋（如果你对宗教哲学感兴趣，欢迎过来切磋）。所以决定，遵从本性做个好人（比如雷锋），想起以前 跟大家组织服务活动时愉快地时光，便萌生了竞选CSSA主席的想法。
本人兴趣爱好：球类运动（乒乓球，羽毛球，篮球，足球，网球，台球，还有玻璃球），游泳（一招吃遍天，所有泳姿皆为蛙式），爬山，远足（这个从小就开始锻炼），读书（小说，历史，宗教，哲学，特别是八卦新闻），音乐（流行的和不流 行的），电影（周星驰的铁杆谜），科研（姑且列在这里，毕竟是本行）。

Hi all,
I was temporarily granted the access to this mailing list, and I am writing as a volunteer to call for help to organize some activities supporting our Beijing Olympics.
We all want to hold some activities in UIUC to support Beijing Olympics, and some people are working on it right now. To save our energy, it will be wonderful if we can organize the activities together. 大家好，
我临时获得发群信的权限，以志愿者的名义给大家发信，希望能把有意组织“挺奥 活动”的人召集到一起，共同制定活动方案。
有很多人希望在UIUC办一些支持北京奥运的活动，而且目前已经有人在筹划一些活 动，包括我的一些同伴们和我。但是我们想可能各个小群体正在进行的努力互相之 间不够了解，而且可能更多的人希望参与活动的组织，提出更多活动方案。所以， 为了能集中大家的力量，不浪费大家的热情，我们建议所有志愿组织者们坐到一起 筹划我们的活动。
目前我们的想法是，我们的活动可以不限于一次或者一种。现在有不少想法出现， 也有很多希望组织活动的人。比如，个人认为，当前最紧要的，是在接下来一两周 集中精力做好宣传展览活动。内容包括支持奥运，揭露媒体歪曲报道，展现西藏真 相。可采取的形式有，比如，散发和张贴传单，进行至少一周的展板展示。
然后，我们觉得还有后续的一些活动可以做，比如义卖奥运T-shirt和bumper sticker。这个可以通过OCEF（海外中国教育基金会）来实现义卖的形式。试想， 如果中国人都有奥运T-shirt，到了夏天都能穿，即使那时候学校人不多了，相信 也有很好的效果。还比如，有人提出可以组织跑步进行宣传。我们可以有一两次大 型的跑步活动，召集尽量多的中国人参加跑一次两次，当然最好是穿着奥运T -shirt。这些都是举例，具体如何实施需要志愿组织者们仔细计划。
我们知道大家不是都能参与到每一次活动中，志愿组织者们也不能每个人都参与组 织每一种活动，但是除了首期集中宣传需要最多的人和时间，以后的活动都相对轻 松简单。我们这一次把有想法，愿意组织的人召集起来，讨论充分，分期实施，不 浪费大家的时间和感情。
所以我在这里做一个协调者，请有意组织活动的人给我发信，我们一起约定一个时 间集中讨论。有活动想法的人也欢迎给我发信。志愿组织者们制定出活动方案后， 会再次面向大家召集志愿者。

| 羽毛球公开赛报名 |
CSSA羽毛球公开赛是UIUC最重要的年度羽毛球赛事之一。从2002年起，每年的比赛都吸引了众多羽毛球爱好者加入，人数最多时接近百人报名参赛。参赛者以华人学生，学者为主，也会有一些其他国家的羽毛球好手加入。为了能让更多的羽毛球爱好者有机会参与这项比赛，所有比赛将按初级组和高级组分开进行。初级组以娱乐为主，重在参与；高级组对抗性和竞技性相对较强，基本能代表UIUC羽毛球的最高水平。
1.比赛地点：Freer Hall 310；
2.比赛时间：比赛分两个时间段，第一时间段，4月12日上午10点到下午2点，第二时间段，下午5点到晚上10点。
3.报名项目：A组（高级组）：男单，男双，女单，女双，混双； B组（初级组）：男单，男双，女单，女双，混双；
(注：比赛最终赛制将根据报名情况决定,但保证每位选手至少能参加两场比赛。报名时所有的项目对A,B组开放。如果一个项目的最终报名队数小于4，则A，B组将被合并为一组；如合并后参赛队数仍小于4，则该项目将被取消。)
4.报名方法：发email至：

| 08北京奥运签名收集活动今天开始 |
各位UIUC的中国学生和学者们，
从今天开始，奥运签名的收集活动正式开始了。每天的中午11点到2点，CSSA会在Illini Union南门收集签名。
最后所有的签名将会以礼物的形式寄到北京奥组委，以表达UI学子对奥运的祝福。活动会持续到周六（4月5号）
的中午。我们希望这个活动能得到大家的积极参与。

| Olympic 2008 signatures and wishes collection |
各位UIUC的中国学生和学者们，
CSSA在四月初将举办一个08北京奥运的签名活动。该活动由海外北京奥运志愿组织（www.boo-vo.org）发起。签名会以礼物的形式寄到北京奥组委，以表达海外学子对奥运的祝福，同时该活动也是对08北京奥运的一个宣传。目前该活动已得到很多海外团体的支持，其中包括很多美国高校。详情大家可以登陆到http://www.boo-vo.org。
活动的时间初步定在4.1-4.5号中午的11点到2点。地点在Union南门和广场之间的空地。我们希望该活动能够得到大家的支持和参与。从而表达我们UI学子对祖国奥运的祝福。

| CSSA主席换届，征召候选人！ |
各位UIUC的中国学生和学者们，
CSSA 2007-2008委员会任期即将结束，非常感谢大家一如既往的支持，特别是
全体CSSA志愿者的努力工作下，成功地完成了本届任期的工作。回首过去的一年，
从最开始的资金募集，打折卡的发行制作，一系列Workshop的举办，迎新生活动，
新生Orientation，新生bbq活动；到之后的中秋晚会，冬季滑雪活动，新春系列活
动，卡拉OK晚会；以及最近的Workshop，其中都留下了每一个志愿者的辛勤的汗水
和大家的支持。同时CSSA下属俱乐部组织的很多体育活动，OCEF的捐款活动，都使
得我们大家在这个中国人社区中的联系越来越紧密。CSSA名为中国学生学者联谊
会，他的使命就是为了促进大家的交流，为大家提供服务，而本届CSSA的所有活动
也都是从这个宗旨而出发的。
依照CSSA章程，CSSA主席任期为一年，实行主席组阁负责制。本着公开、公平和公
正的原则，CSSA现在开始征集CSSA 2008-2009 主席候选人。只要热心乐于为全体
中国服务的学生和学者，都可以成为候选人。
候选人资格：1）为UIUC注册的中国学生或学者，或其家属。2）于2008-2009任期
保持其与UIUC的关联身份。3）承认并遵守本会的章程。4）愿意为全体CSSA成员及
中国人社区服务。
从目前开始接受CSSA 2008-2009年度主席候选人报名，截止日期为3月31日，
2008。在截止日期前，候选人须提交以下材料：1）个人竞选宣言以及竞选纲领。

Dear all,
CSSA 2007-2008 Committee is going to finish the job soon. Thanks to
all your continuous support, especially all the volunteer’s hard work,
we have successfully finished our job. Seeing back to the past year, we
began from the funding raising, making discount cards, career workshops,
new student welcome, new student orientation, new student bbq; to the
Moon Festival GALA, CSSA Ski Trip, spring festival celebration series;
until recently the workshops, all of those are based on the sweat of the
volunteers and the support from all of you. Meanwhile, the CSSA clubs
organized many sport activities, OCEF continuous do the fund raising for
Chinese poor students in China, all of those makes everyone in the
community to be closer with each other. CSSA is named as Chinese
Student&Scholars Association, its mission is just to facilitate the
communication among all the members and provide services, all the
activities of CSSA 2007-2008 were initiated from these points.
According to the constitution of CSSA, the president of CSSA ‘s term
is one year, and the president is responsible to set up the cabinet, and
be responsible for CSSA. CSSA is calling for CSSA 2008-2009 President
Candidates, based on public, fair, and equity rules. Any one, who is
willing to serve the whole Chinese community could be as a candidate.
Eligibility:
1) Registered Chinese students&scholars in UIUC, including their
dependents.
2) Maintain the affiliated relation with UIUC during the term of
2008-2009.
3) Acknowledge and stand by the CSSA constitution.
4) Willing to serve the Chinese community.
We begin to accept the self nomination and nomination of the candidate
by now, the deadline is Mar. 31st, 2008. Before the deadline, all
candidate should submit the following materials: 1) The campaign
statement 2) Resume 3) Detail outline of what you are going to do if you
were elected. And email all the materials to ge2@uiuc.edu.
President will come out by voting by all CSSA members.
CSSA is your organization. I hope when you graduate, you don’t forget
whom picked you up at the airport or the terminal, don’t forget who
provided the temporary house, don’t forget whom played with you in the
sports, don’t forget who appreciate the moon with you in the moon
festival. CSSA is not a special organization, all of those whoms are
CSSA. I hope more and more people would like to take the responsibility

| 2007中秋晚会DVD义卖 |
Hey, all,
CSSA将在二月8号(本周五学生会春节晚会)，17号（歌神大赛），22号（元宵之夜）的中国学生会春节庆祝系列活动中推出2007中秋晚会DVD义卖.义卖由OCEF与CSSA共同负责.需要购买的同学也可以跟我们发信，到我们的办公室来取，EMAIL 地址:

一套DVD的制作成本为$2.3,包括DVD,刻录,包装和包装印刷.目前拟定售价为$10每套.本次义卖的卖出的DVD成本将回收给CSSA.除此之外的所有收入交由OCEF转而捐献给国内贫困地区儿童以资助他们的学业.每销售约7套DVD($50)将能够资助一个国内贫困地区儿童一年的学杂费.
目前还有部分剩余的２００６年中秋晚会ＤＶＤ，将采取买一送一的方式，送给购买ＤＶＤ的同学，送完为止。
每套中含DVD一张,包括晚会的17个节目及部分节目的创作花序.DVD格式支持DVD Player和任何兼容的电脑播放软件，已经在DVD Player上测试过。支持选择节目或连续播放。
中秋DVD的选材取自三台摄像机,由恽迪，齐正晗，陈重周提供，分别由张宏博，刁家杰，蒋伟杭等实施拍摄。后期的视频编辑由曹晓祎同学一人完成.这项工作相当繁重,因此特别感谢曹晓祎同学花了很多时间精力剪辑制作. DVD盘盒的插页及DVD Label由何涓涓同学设计.最终DVD成品的装配由OCEF与CSSA的Volunteers完成，不一一列举，在此一并感谢。
另外,凡是参与中秋的演员和工作人员,可以以$3获得每人一套的DVD,借此感谢大家对中秋晚会的贡献.
DVD凡是有受损而无法正常播放的，可以马上更换，请与我们联系。

| Special Karaoke Party - "Mr. and Mrs. Singers" (歌神会) |
Hey all,
On Feb 17th, Sunday, CSSA will be holding a special Karaoke party - "Mr. and Mrs. Singers" (歌神会). Unlike traditional competitions, there will be more interactions going on instead of only show-watching or judging.
Some of the things different from our past events:
- During the party, our singers would be singing as single, as pair or as group, and they are expected to "play with songs".
- Ask our fans to vote for their favoriate singers, play games together, and even sing to backup their singers.

Admission: Everybody

In the THAA-CSSA joint event "Meeting Shantou University", Prof. Peihua Gu, vice president of Shantou University, presented impressive reform in the university, aiming to create a different administrative framework for the university and a unique learning experience for its students.
At its critical development stage, the university is offering various possibilities for dedicated faculty candidates. In particular, the university sets the goal of enabling faculty members to have a successful career different from most other places, with its outstanding resources in many aspects.

前言：如果真的有人发自内心地愿意演这些角色，我会很感动的，真的。
我知道玉米地里的男男女女都很羞涩，所以在这里还要请各位发扬有仇报仇，有冤
报冤的原则，大力推荐一下你身边的狐朋狗友，让他们无人知晓的表演天才彻底暴
露在光天化日之下吧！
言归正传，我现在需要如下角色：（名字暂时保密）
男A：这么多年来，他一直在执著地搭讪着，搭讪着，搭讪着……屡战屡败，屡败屡
战。可惜始终没有一个女孩子，能看到他纯朴外表下的纯朴内心，以及和身材成反
比的伟岸的人格。Sigh，谁让这哥们儿天生没情商呢？（其实是个很需要演技的喜
剧角色，有点像郭靖，所以不要‘李亚鹏’?
男B：所有的女人都爱他，他也爱所有的女人，这就是他的全部问题所在。如果爱
情真能当面包，袁隆平就克隆他了，比水稻都高产。可惜爱情也经常是毒药，所以
这为极品帅哥也经常有灰头土脸的时候。（有大段的精彩台词，比较吃嘴上功夫，
各位女士多想想身边巧舌如簧的帅哥吧。）
男C：爱情的关键问题在于钱，这就是这位历经风霜的大哥摸爬滚打好几年的经
验。对女孩子的认识相当偏激，但谁能说他一点道理没有呢？成熟勤奋的男士，偷
偷在酒吧里大发牢骚，台词暴笑。
女M：美女。用一秒钟时间就抓住了男B（以及全场观众）的眼球。聪明，且带着几
分侠女的风范。戏不多，但很吃功夫。花瓶，好花瓶，上好的花瓶。
女N：很遗憾，男A在搭讪实习的时候她碰巧在场。台词很少，但演起来会很有趣，
想玩票又比较忙的话这个角色是首选。
最后诚招副导演一名。最好能有舞台表演或者剧本创作经验（有就可以不用多）。
有对各种音乐和流行歌曲熟悉的我求贤若渴。但最关键的是，得舍得花时间。

Recruitment of Master of Ceremony (主持人)

Recruitment of performance
We need various kinds of performances, including 独唱，合唱，联唱，民族舞，现代舞，话剧，小品，民族乐器，西洋乐器等等。 Anyone who want to have a try, please reply me at ge2@uiuc.edu with a brief introduction of yourself. Note that the first audition for all performances of the GALA would be on Sep 15th.

一年一度新生杯羽毛球赛现在开始报名！！！
作为CSSA迎新活动的一部分，此次新生杯比赛主要面向所有今年入学的新学生，但也会加入一定的老生参与以增进新老生之间的交流。
时间：2007年9月8日 （周六）1pm-6pm，
地点：Freer Hall 310
项目：
1. 男单，女单 （固定项目）：只对新生开放。
2. 男双，女双，混双 （候选项目）：考虑到新生目前可能没有固定的双打伙伴，同时给老生一个参与比赛的机会，对于双打项目建议采用新老生组合的方式。新生可以报名任何一项双打项目，俱乐部将根据报名情况，为新生选配老生搭档。如果新生已有自己的搭档，请在报名时直接注明。
3. 新老生对抗赛 （候选项目）：如果时间允许，更多的比赛可以在新老生之间展开，自由组合，尽兴即可。
以上时间地点基本不会改变，在收到学校相关部门的确认后，会通过BBS及email通知大家。

New round of CSSA (2007-08) has been running since May. It seems that we are having a pretty strong team now. I guess it’s time we get to know more about each other and discuss the future plans. The first general meeting would be on Friday July 13th, 7 PM, at Union Room 407.

Dear Chinese Students in MSF/MSA 2007:

CSSA (Chinese Students and Scholar Association) have been found more than ten years, serving the Chinese community and promoting the communication between each other. We would start a new year’s work soon. Now begins the recruiting season!
Below are the divisions and members to be recruited:
Vice president, Treasure, General Secretary; Director of Division of New Student, Career Development, Entertainment, Sports, Public Relationship, Propagation, Net Work, Undergraduate, Scholar.
Following is the brief introduction for some of the divisions:
New Students Reception
Including pick up, housing, new student handbook, orientation and new students BBQ, etc. Based on previous experience, take as careful as possible everything in consideration so that the new students could feel home here; connect new and old students; new students are the most passionate and creative group that could potentially be recruited by and contribute to CSSA.
Career Development
As previous models of workshops, carry on the similar ideas covering finance, autos, tax, immigration, etc. Make key point as career development, relevant legitimacy issues and identity issues.
Entertainment
Hole various kinds of parties such as camping, BBQ, boating, ski, etc, and thesis parties such as KaraOK, cards, Majiang, dancing, and movies, etc.
Public Relationship and Propagation
The former includes connection to media journalisms, and organizations within or out of campus; the latter is in charge of all activities involved in art design and propagation.
Alumni
Cooperate with net working, aim to establish and improve an accurate as well as dynamic information platform, the data base and internet web site. Try graduation parties to maintain the precious source of UIUC alumni.

| Virginia Tech Incident |
To all members of Chinese community at UIUC,
It’s been days since the Virginia Tech incident occurred. I could imagine that everyone is still under the shock and sadness that the tragedy had brought to us. On behalf of CSSA, I really want to express my deepest sympathy to those victims and their families and friends who suddenly lost their beloved ones.
Please do take care of yourself and be more aware of anything potentially threatening in your surroundings, as the Chancellor had suggested. Speak up whenever you think necessary. Also, be aware of some possible anti-Asian thoughts recently bred by some people. I strongly suggest not going on the street or staying in the office alone late into the night.
During the school attack, it is said that a student in one of the rooms stayed clam enough and pushed a heavy table against the door. The gunman shot two bullets on the door and no one got hurt in that room. The student saved himself, and probably all the lives in the classroom. True or not, this could be taken as a lesson. Do your best to avoid panic in case something horrible happened.
We cry over 32 innocent lives that had been lost; we are moved by Professor Liviu Librescu who barred the door to his classroom with his body; we accuse the cruel killing. At the same time, we are sad that the killer himself was such a loner and so seriously mentally torched that no one could really help him. Hope tragedies like this would never ever again occur to our lives.
Let’s pray for the sad families who had suffered, and cherish every minute of our life.

CSSA 2006-2007委员会任期即将结束，非常感谢大家一如既往的支持，特别是全体CSSA志愿者的努力工作下，成功地完成了本届任期的工作。回首过去的一年，从最开始的资金募集，打折卡的发行制作，一系列Workshop的举办，迎新生活动，新生Orientation，新生bbq活动，CSSA出游，答谢志愿者Party，校友网络联系制作；到之后的中秋晚会，中秋志愿者party，冬季滑雪活动；以及最近的Workshop和盛大的春节庆祝活动，其中都留下了每一个志愿者的辛勤的汗水和大家的支持。同时CSSA下属俱乐部组织的很多体育活动，OCEF的捐款活动，都使得我们大家在这个中国人社区中的联系越来越紧密。CSSA名为中国学生学者联谊会，他的使命就是为了促进大家的交流，为大家提供服务，而本届CSSA的所有活动也都是从这个宗旨而出发的。
依照CSSA章程，CSSA主席任期为一年，实行主席组阁负责制。本着公开、公平和公正的原则，CSSA现在开始征集CSSA 2007-2008 主席候选人。只要热心乐于为全体中国服务的学生和学者，都可以成为候选人。
候选人资格：1）为UIUC注册的中国学生或学者，或其家属。2）于2007-2008任期保持其与UIUC的关联身份。3）承认并遵守本会的章程。4）愿意为全体CSSA成员及中国人社区服务。
从目前开始接受CSSA 2007-2008年度主席候选人报名，截止日期为3月21日。在截止日期前，候选人须提交以下材料：1）个人竞选宣言以及竞选纲领。2）个人简历。3）具体的施政纲领。请将以上材料Email至：zhangyang0416@gmail.com。
如果最后只有一名候选人，则采取等额选举的投票制。如果有两名及以上候选人，则进行差额选举。
CSSA是大家的组织。希望大家在毕业的时候不要忘记当时在机场或者Terminal给自己接机的学长，不要忘记给自己提供临时住宿的同学，不要忘记和自己一起在体育比赛中合作的伙伴，不要忘记在中秋的时候和你一起赏月、娱乐的好朋友。CSSA不是特殊的组织，这些你的学长、同学、伙伴和好朋友就是CSSA。希望能够有更多的人加入CSSA，担当起这份责任，你所作的工作就是给你身边的人以快乐和帮助。谢谢！
