| ARTICLE I 每 GENERAL |
Section 1: The official name of this organization shall be Chinese Students and Scholars Association.
Section 2: The Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) shall be a register organization that provides the opportunities for the students and scholars of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the general public to explore the Chinese cultures through building friendships with the Chinese students and scholars.
Section 3: The Association abides by the applicable rules and policies of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign pertaining to registered organizations.
Section 4: This association shall exist for the following purposes:
a. To strengthen contact and to promote friendship among its members;
b. To help the Chinese students and scholars with their living and academic adjustments;
c. To arrange events that promotes cultural diversity in the university community through promoting the Chinese culture.

| ARTICLE II 每 MEMBERSHIP |
Section 1: Membership is open to all students and scholars of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the general public without regard to race, religion, color, sex, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, creed, marital status, public assistance status, or sexual orientation.
Section 2: All the members have the equal right to vote.
Section 3: One will become a CSSA member after registration with the Association.

| ARTICLE III 每 COMMITTEE |
Section 1: The committee of CSSA shall consist of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Division Leaders and other officers as needed.
Section 2: President shall be elected during the annual membership meeting and shall serve for a period of one year. The President may appoint officers to fill in vacant positions.

| ARTICLE IV 每 MEETINGS |
Section 1: An annual membership meeting shall be held in the Spring Semester each year to generate the new President. A special membership meeting may be called by the President to serve any special purpose.
Section 2: A Committee meeting shall be held at least once each semester during the academic year.
Section 3: Divisions meeting shall be held for special purpose.
Section 4: Decisions of the meeting shall be enacted by a majority vote of the members present.

| ARTICLE V 每 FINANCIAL MATTERS |
Section 1: The Association is a non-profit organization. It shall not provide monetary gain, incidentally or otherwise to its directors, membership. This does not restrict the payments of wages, salaries or incentives by the Association for services rendered.

| ARTICLE VI 每 AMENDMENTS |
Section 1: Amendments to the Constitution may be proposed by any member of the Association. Such proposals shall be submitted in writing to the Committee at least two months prior to the membership meeting at which the proposed amendment is to be voted. The Committee shall announce the amendment proposal to all membership at least one month prior to the membership meeting. Amendments shall be approved by a two-thirds majority vote of the membership present.
