The 15th of the 8th lunar month, a date that parallels the Autumn and Spring Equinoxes in solar calendar, marks a sentimental time –the Moon Festival.
Stems from celebrations for harvests, the Moon Festival evolves into a festival on which friends and families get together and appreciate each other’s companionship. Traditional pastries, particularly the mooncakes, are served on parties where people admire the full autumn moon.

This year, the Chinese Students & Scholars association (CSSA) has again summoned the most talented volunteers, compiled the best performances and proudly present to you:
The 2008 Moon Festival Gala!

More than 3 hours of cultural performances from all over China, including traditional opera, Kong Fu, songs, crosstalk, drama and award-winning Chinese instruments performances. This is THE largest Chinese culture fest in Urbana-Champaign and has brought full joy to over two thousand audiences of diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds every year.
